2012 IIF Executive Program on Corporate Governance
2012 IIF Executive Program on Corporate Governance
March 21-23, 2012, Beirut, Lebanon
The Executive Program on Corporate Governance was offered by the Institute of International Finance (IIF) in cooperation with the Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) in Beirut on March 21-23.
This three-day Program was designed to provide in a concise format the essential understanding that the senior level audience must possess about corporate governance, especially the role of members in the audit and risk board committees.
To date, Lebanon understands the important role that the banks play in the domestic market, as indicated by the release of Circulars by the Banque du Liban addressing specifically the actions required by banks and the ABL with its Corporate Governance Guidelines for banks operating locally.
Day 1 allowed the heads of the banks and CROs to gain clear insights into the global best practices and how best to align them to the local practices in this current environment. The sessions were very interactive and practical, with discussions led by a seasoned practitioner from a global bank.
Day 2 was targeted to the board members and the senior executives of banks, with a full day workshop providing insights into what exactly should be the individual roles of the audit and risk board committees. This was supplemented with practical case studies and interactive discussions, to help navigate a clearer understanding.
Day 3 was targeted to the same audience as Day 2, but the speaker provided guidance from a practitioner’s perspective to further crystallize the understanding.
Registration for this program is now closed.
