Registration for this event is now closed.
The Country Program on Private Banking was offered by the Institute of International Finance (IIF) in cooperation with Banks Association of Turkey on May 8-10 in Istanbul.
This three-day Program was targeted to the middle to senior level private banking professionals in Turkey whose responsibilities involve wealth management and/or risk management. This Program was designed to provide the essential private banking knowledge—tailored for the Turkey market—in a very concise and interactive format.
Day one provided the macro level insights from senior executives of global banks to help the participants better address current issues and future industry trends. To further deepen understanding from a strategic perspective, expert speakers bridged the global best practices and trends with what is relevant and applicable for the local market.
The Program then moved to a more practical workshop level for day two and three. An expert speaker from a leading global wealth management bank lead discussions on the key topic of building successful client relationships to becoming a better relationship manager. The program delivery ranged from presentations to role-playing exercises to case studies, underpinned with interactive discussions, to gain essential practical understanding quickly.
Beyond the scope of pure private banking, the topic of risk management was addressed as private banking clients are using riskier products and, at the same time, the private bankers need to better understand and explain the risk to their clients.
The topics overall were fashioned with the specific interest of the Turkey private banking professionals in mind, to provide an attractive value-added agenda for the target audience. Moreover, the discussion sessions allowed further room for flexibility in going deeper with the subject matters concerned.
