Building Istanbul as a Key Financial Center
Building Istanbul as a Key Financial Center
May 9, 2012, Istanbul, Turkey
As one of the world’s most dynamic economies, Turkey is fast becoming a global leader politically, economically, and financially. With this in mind, Akbank and the Institute of International Finance (IIF) are proud to announce their collaboration in presenting a special conference entitled “Building Istanbul as a Key Financial Center” on May 9 at the Sabanci Center in Istanbul, Turkey.
The special event will expand upon a previous roundtable discussion that the IIF hosted during the 2009 Annual Membership Meeting in Istanbul. Senior financial services executives and government officials will come together to exchange views and share insights on steps Turkey has taken thus far in achieving its goal to become a key financial center in the region; on macroeconomic factors and the necessary environment conducive to development of such a center; and on experiences and lessons learned from other financial centers.
The conference will feature many distinguished discussants as well as a keynote address by Mr. Ali Babacan, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey. The program will provide an unparalleled opportunity to hear different perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing Istanbul in its strides to becoming a key financial center.
