The meeting is the IIF’s highest level gathering of financial leaders in the region, attracting about 100 CEOs and senior executives of the leading financial institutions, as well as policymakers and representatives of global firms active in the MENA region. The format is a roundtable to allow for a free and interactive exchange of views following brief presentations by top-level experts on the relevant topics.
The meeting begins with an afternoon session on April 16 followed by a formal dinner in the evening which will be addressed by a headline keynote speaker. The second day’s proceedings will include discussions on key topics of concern to financial leaders in the MENA region.
A year into the ‘Arab Spring’ and the political landscape of the Middle East has been fundamentally altered. The uncertainties created by the turmoil and rising tensions elsewhere in the region, all have combined to raise the level of geopolitical risks with far reaching implications for the global energy and financial markets. The global financial system is also being transformed by fundamental changes brought about by the crisis while the Euro area debt problems continue to weigh on the global economy with serious implications for emerging markets, including the MENA region. These and related topics will be the focus of discussion at this important event.
The meeting will take place at the Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort. For more information on the MENA CEO Meeting, please contact Mrs. Anne Louis-Jacques (e-mail or Tel: +1 202 857 3637).
