2012 MENA Regional Economic Forum

2012 MENA Regional Economic Forum

December 4, 2012 to December 5, 2012, Cairo, Egypt

The 2012 IIF MENA Regional Economic Forum will take place in Cairo, Egypt on December 4-5, hosted by Mr. Hassan Abdalla, Chief Executive Officer, Arab African International Bank.

The Regional Economic Forum is a valuable opportunity for chief economists and other senior executives of IIF member firms in the MENA region, and of global institutions with interest in the region, to engage in an informal and constructive exchange of views on the key global and regional economic and financial developments. The focus of the Forum this year will be on the urgent issues facing the Arab countries in transition as they begin to rebuild their political institutions and chart their economic recovery in the midst of anemic global growth and deepening financial crisis in Europe. In addition, geopolitical risks in the region remain a source of uncertainty and possible turbulence in the energy market with widely divergent implications for oil-dependent and non-oil countries in the region.

The format of the Forum is a roundtable to allow for a free and interactive exchange of views following brief presentations by top-level experts on the relevant topics.

Participation in this event is by invitation, extended principally to IIF member institutions. However, participants from non-member financial institutions in the MENA region and from interested global firms are also welcome. There is no registration fee.
