The Institute of International Finance (IIF) will hold its 2013 Latin America Economic Forum alongside the Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Panama City. The overarching theme of this meeting will be the performance of the region under persistent global uncertainty and weakness. The Economic Forum will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel and will include a luncheon.

This half-day event will feature:

  • Keynote addresses by high-profile government officials and leading financiers.
  • Discussion of the global economic outlook by IIF Head of Global Macroeconomic Analysis Felix Huefner, focusing on the unfolding of the European debt crisis, likely evolution of the U.S. economy, and other key issues affecting Latin America, such as China and commodity prices.
  • Expert presentations highlighting the critical issues for Latin America in 2013 and beyond, including the policy response by the major economies to global weakness and medium-term challenges faced by the region.
