2008 Membership Meeting

March 5-7, 2008, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

We are pleased to announce the success of the 2008 IIF Membership Meeting held March 6-7 at the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The meeting began on Thursday, March 6, at 9:00 a.m. with Economic Presentations from the IIF Economic Team. That afternoon we had the opening luncheon, which took place at the conclusion of the morning's presentations, and featured a keynote address. Following the luncheon, we resumed the IIF economic presentations as well as provide sessions on Ratings Issues and Prospects For Latin America: An OECD Report. The evening's festivities began at 7:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by the opening dinner, with a keynote address from Dr. José Serra, Governor of the State of Saõ Paulo, Brazil.

We began our Plenary Session at 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning with several panel discussions and keynote addresses on key issues in the world economy as well as special sessions on Regulatory Issues and Emerging Markets Policy Issues. We offered a special session on Latin America, featuring discussants from both business and finance arenas. That evening the cocktail reception began at 7:00 p.m. and was followed by our closing dinner with a keynote address from Sir Howard Davies, Director, London School of Economics.
