The 2010 IIF Spring Membership Meeting was held June 9-11 at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria. This three-day event began on the afternoon of Wednesday June 9 with a session addressing key regulatory reform issues as well as a special G-20 roundtable which updated participants on progress on the 2010 agenda, focusing on the enhanced role of emerging market countries in the G-20 governance process, followed by an informal Welcome Reception.

The program continued the morning of Thursday, June 10 with presentations from the IIF economics team. The afternoon featured a special Roundtable Discussion focusing on the outlook for European financial integration and Europe's role in the global economy. The discussion was chaired by Dr. Josef Ackermann, Chairman of the Board of the IIF & Chairman of the Management Board and the Group Executive Committee, Deutsche Bank AG and featured two Keynote Addresses from The Honorable Ewald Nowotny, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Austria and Mr. George Soros, Chairman of Soros Fund Management. The evening's festivities began with a cocktail reception followed by the Opening Dinner and keynote address by The Honorable Jean-Claude Trichet, President of the European Central Bank.

The Friday program began with Keynote Addresses by His Excellency Josef Pröll, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Austria and Dr. Arnout Wellink, President, De Nederlandsche Bank NV and Chairman of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Plenary sessions included panel discussions and special addresses on pressing issues in the world economy. Panel discussions touched upon the implications of global regulatory reform for business models in financial services; progress made towards attaining self-sustaining growth; and the potential risks that lie ahead for the global financial system. Keynote Address during the luncheon was delivered by His Excellency Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister, Republic of Hungary. The meeting concluded with a Closing Reception and Dinner, featuring a keynote address from His Excellency George A. Papandreou, Greek Prime Minister.
