We are pleased to announce that the 2010 IIF Maghreb Banks CEO Meeting will take place on April 13, 2010 in Tunis and will be hosted by Amen Bank and sponsored by Banque Internationale Arabe de Tunisie (BIAT), Société Tunisienne de Banque (STB), and BNP Paribas. The meeting will be preceded by an opening dinner on April 12.

The meeting will be especially important as financial institutions and regulatory authorities examine the lessons learned from the crisis and analyze how the financial services industry is adapting to tougher market conditions. We hope to use this gathering to review key current economic, financial, and regulatory developments and assess their implications for the Maghreb region. This will also be an opportunity to tackle issues of particular interest to the region, including revisiting the role of the state in the financial sector in light of the systemic crisis, reviewing the role played by finance in the building and functioning of a modern economy, regional integration, and other issues.
