It will also address the relevance of these developments for risk managers in the MENA region, with special attention to those aspects most relevant to the region. Overall the program is designed to sharpen the tools used by risk professionals in light of the lessons learned from the gaps revealed by the crisis and to provide participants with a forum for sharing insights with colleagues in the region and world renowned experts and professionals.
Participants in the program will be exposed to (i) critical enhancements in risk management tools and techniques, drawing heavily on the work and recommendations of the IIF; (ii) the evolving role of risk managers, especially in the area of aligning strategy to risk and (iii) the implications of the ongoing reforms in the regulatory and supervisory areas for risk managers in the MENA region.
The IIF has been at the forefront of improving risk management in financial institutions and continues to work closely with its members to put in place practical approaches to identifying risk management gaps and formulating a set of recommendations and best practices aimed at ensuring sound risk management practices.
