The IIF's Equity Advisory Group (EAG) works to promote sound corporate governance practices in emerging markets by:

  • Promoting the IIF Code of Corporate Governance (IIF Code)
  • Assessing emerging market corporate governance frameworks (Country-specific Reports)
  • Consulting stock exchanges to improve equity markets (GEM Assessments)

With the aim of improving corporate governance practices at the company and sovereign level, the IIF's Equity Advisory Group developed a set of practical guidelines for emerging market countries.

A key part of the EAG's work is to provide country-specific assessments of corporate governance. To date, the EAG has set up Task Forces for 16 emerging market countries, and has published 16 country reports, 1 comparative report and 2 update assessments.
