Governance in Equity Markets (GEM) Service is a specialized service targeted to help stock exchanges in emerging market countries:

IIF's GEM Service is designed to examine and strengthen the equity market structure of a country. GEM assesses the quality of oversight provided by the Capital Market Regulator in a country. It also assess the capability of the Stock Exchange to ensure compliance with listing requirements by examining the enforcement and surveillance capabilities as they relate to compliance with corporate governance requirements for listed companies. GEM also assists stock exchanges in strengthening their corporate governance related listing requirements by comparing them with best practices developed by the IIF.
