Two New Board Members at the IIF

Washington D.C., February 20, 2013 - Mr. Michael Corbat, Chief Executive officer of Citigroup, and Mr. Antony Jenkins, Chief Executive of Barclays, have joined the Board of Directors of the Institute of International Finance with immediate effect.

Mr. Douglas Flint, Chairman of the IIF Board of Directors and Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings plc, said he was "delighted that two leading proponents of the changes that are taking place in the international banking world have agreed to serve on the Board of the IIF. I warmly welcome them and very much look forward to their support in taking the work of the Institute forward." Mr. Tim Adams, Managing Director of the IIF, joined Mr. Flint in welcoming Mr. Jenkins and Mr. Corbat, and added: "The Institute has a powerful Board of Directors. With the addition of Michael and Antony, who are at the forefront of today's thinking about how our industry can better serve society, it becomes even more so. Their contribution will be invaluable."

Antony Jenkins started his career at Barclays in 1983, completing the Barclays Management Development Programme. In 1989 he moved to Citigroup, working in London and New York. He rejoined Barclays in January 2006 as Chief Executive of Barclaycard, where he led a revival in the fortunes of the business. Antony joined the Barclays Executive Committee in November 2009, from which date he was Chief Executive of Barclays Retail and Business Banking. Between February 2009 and October 2012 he represented Barclays as a Non-executive Director on the Board of Absa, the South African Banking group. Between October 2008 and December 2011 Antony sat on the Board of Visa Europe Ltd.

Michael Corbat has been with Citigroup and its predecessor companies since graduating from Harvard University in 1983. During his time with Citi he has held various positions, including CEO of Citi's Europe, the Middle East and Africa region. He served as CEO of Citi Holdings, Citi's portfolio of non-core businesses and assets, during which he oversaw the divestiture of more than 40 businesses and restructured Citi's consumer finance and retail partner cards' businesses. He also served as the CEO of the Global Wealth Management unit, and prior to that was Head of the Global Corporate Bank and Global Commercial Bank at Citi.
