DeSouza Joins IIF as Senior Manager, Corporate Communications

Washington D.C., August 23, 2013 - The Institute for International Finance today announced that Andrew DeSouza will be joining September 3 as Senior Manager, Corporate Communications.

"ndrew's depth and breadth of knowledge on financial services, the complex issues firms face, and his relationship with key media will ensure that the Institute remains an authoritative and effective voice in policymaking around the globe."

DeSouza joins the IIF from the Securities Industry and Finance Markets Association (SIFMA) where he most recently served as Vice President, Public Affairs, managing media relations and digital media for SIFMA's Washington, D.C. office on a wide variety of local, national and international public policy issues. In that capacity, DeSouza developed and executed strategic external communications efforts on a broad range of regulatory and legislative issues including the Dodd-Frank Act, Basel III, equity market structure issues, and tax issues.

Previously, DeSouza served as Public Affairs Specialist at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2007 to 2009, where he was spokesman for both the Office of Tax Policy and the Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. DeSouza started his career in the House of Representatives, where he worked from 2006-2007 for Congressman Mark Kennedy.
