Greer Meisels

Chief of Staff

Greer Meisels is the Chief of Staff at the Institute of International Finance.

Prior to joining IIF, Ms. Meisels held several positions in the International Affairs division of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, including as Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary of International Affairs.  Her work at Treasury also focused on the U.S.-China economic relationship as well as on investment security issues on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). For her work at the Treasury Department, she received the Meritorious Service Award from then Secretary Jacob J. Lew.

Earlier in her career, she worked at several think tanks both in Washington, DC and New York such as the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars, the Center for the National Interest, and the National Committee on American Foreign Policy. Ms. Meisels was also a visiting lecturer at the China Foreign Affairs University, in Beijing, and was previously selected as a non-resident Sasakawa Peace Foundation Fellow and a James A. Kelly Korean Studies Fellow at the Pacific Forum, CSIS.

Education

Ms. Meisels received her A.M. from Harvard University in Regional Studies – East Asia, focusing on comparative politics and Chinese foreign policy and political economy. She received her B.A. from Hunter College, City University of New York, majoring in political science.
