This invitation-only event will bring together senior public sector officials and industry leaders to discuss how to address market fragmentation, including the impact of local supervisory measures and ring-fencing, divergences in the implementation of international standards (including Basel III), applying standards designed for a global entity at the subsidiary level, and extraterritorial application of one jurisdiction's regulations upon another. Participants will consider how market fragmentation impacts the stability of European and global financial markets and their effectiveness in supporting economic growth, and recommendations for ways in which regulators, supervisors, and the financial sector, can help overcome these issues. The event will also examine how European Commission initiatives, such as the simplification exercise and competitiveness assessment, can contribute to addressing market fragmentation.
The roundtable is by invitation only and will be held under the Chatham House Rule. To register, please contact [email protected].
This event will take place alongside the 2025 IIF European Summit in Brussels. For more information on the Summit or to register, please click here.
