Anne-Laure has more than 25 years of experience in debt/capital markets and Sovereign Advisory at both government and SOE level. Anne-Laure started her career at Lehman Brothers in 1999, working in several departments in New York, London and Paris: Initially in Debt Capital Markets (‘DCM’), focusing on origination and execution of bonds (all currencies), private placements, bank debt, acquisition financings, hybrids, structured finance products as well as derivatives. Headed Lehman Brothers’ corporate DCM practice for France and Benelux; Co-headed Lehman’s Global Finance practice (Debt Capital Markets ‘DCM’, Equity Capital Markets ‘ECM’ and Leveraged Finance) for France and Benelux; Senior Banker (M&A, DCM, ECM) for French corporates, based in Paris, focusing on consumer and infrastructure sectors. Anne-Laure joined Rothschild in Paris in 2009: Initially working in the Financing Advisory Group, focusing on capital structure, credit rating and debt advisory for corporates; Became a Partner in 2014, and initiated Rothschild’s Sovereign Advisory effort, a practice she co-created and developed before being appointed Global Head. In this capacity, she advised more than 20 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East as well as Latin America, working on landmark cases such as Greece, Ukraine, Ivory Coast and Senegal; Between 2016-2019, she served as Advisor to the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. In 2019, Anne-Laure founded Global Sovereign Advisory (‘GSA’), an independent firm providing holistic advice to States and SOEs on public policy and financing matters; GSA is active in areas such as macro-fiscal framework/policy mix, asset/liability management and public sector perimeter, financing strategy including project finance, economic strategy, reform design/implementation/evaluation as well as risk evaluation and mitigation; GSA currently advises more than 30 countries around the world on strategic issues Education. Anne-Laure graduated from HEC and Sankt Gallen; and holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics Other. On January 1st, 2022, Anne-Laure has been appointed as a member of the Committee for Development Policy by the United Nations Economic and Social Council. In 2020, Anne-Laure was named President of the Sorbonne University Foundation’s Campaign Committee. In November 2019, GSA launched a Chair on Sovereign Debt at SciencesPo, hosted by the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA); Anne-Laure co-signed the Sciences Po Chair on Sovereign Debt’s open letter to Kristalina Georgieva and David Malpass proposing guiding principles for debt relief. Anne-Laure co-founded Youthonomics, an index which ranks countries according to youth friendliness. Anne-Laure is a founding member of A new ROAD, the first think tank dedicated to African public debt and the issue of financing the continent’s economies, established in 2021 by both Gide Law firm and GSA.
