Irene Espinosa-Cantellano is an economist and public official with 28 years of experience in the financial and academic sectors. Since January 2018, she has been Deputy Governor at Banco de México, becoming the first woman in the Governing Board. Before, she served as Treasurer of the Federation for almost nine years and as Principal Counselor of the Office of the Executive Director for Mexico and the Dominican Republic of the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C. for six years. Ms. Espinosa-Cantellano earned a Master’s in Public Policy and a B.A. in Economics at ITAM.
