IIF Announces Two Additions To The Management Team

Washington, DC, May 9, 2013 - Institute of International Finance President and CEO Tim Adams today announced two additions to the IIF management team. Ambassador Kristen Silverberg will join the Institute as of June 1 as General Counsel and Senior Advisor, and Tony Fratto joined the Institute on May 3 as Media Consultant.

"Kristen Silverberg brings extensive legal, regulatory, and economic experience from both the public and private sectors. She will be incredibly valuable in helping the IIF continue to advance policies that are vital to our members and to the financial system as a whole."

Ambassador Kristen Silverberg served as the U.S. Ambassador to the European Union from 2008 to 2009 and as Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs from 2005 to 2008. Prior to her time at the State Department, she held a number of senior positions at the White House, including Deputy Assistant to the President and Advisor to the Chief of Staff, as well as Deputy Domestic Policy Advisor. Ambassador Silverberg formerly practiced law at Williams and Connolly, LLP in Washington, DC and served as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and Judge David Sentelle of the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Tony Fratto is the founder and a managing partner at Hamilton Place Strategies, a policy and communications consulting firm based in Washington, DC. Mr. Fratto previously served as Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Treasury Department, where he was the chief spokesperson on issues related to domestic finance, banking, international economics, international development policy, and international capital markets. After his time at the U.S. Treasury, Tony served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy Press Secretary from 2006 to 2009, where he was the White House communicator responsible for international and domestic economic policy issues. Combining his work at the Treasury and the White House, Tony directed and participated in communications efforts in more than 60 countries around the world.
