FRT Episode 37: IIF Digital Finance Symposium

The IIF 2nd annual Digital Finance Symposium was held in Washington on May 29, kindly sponsored by Deloitte. The Symposium featured discussions on Consumer Data and Open Banking, Partnerships, Sandboxes, Machine Learning, Combatting Financial Crime, Quantum Computing, and Cloud.

In discussing some of the highlights from those discussions, FRT welcomes Symposium speakers Annelie Schnaar-Campbell (Standard Bank), Gene DiMira (ManuLife) and Michael Brett (QxBranch). Some recurring themes across the various topics included an increased focus on digital identity (both for commercial imperatives and as part of combatting crime) and the nexus of incumbent firms, FinTechs, and regulators in pursuing innovations and mitigating risks.
