FRT Episode 96: Connectivity and Customer Centricity: Highlights from IIF Asia Summit

The 2021 IIF Asia Summit underlined the need for international co-operation in the digital economy, while also highlighting the initiatives underway in financial services, both to transform themselves and to help their clients adapt to a digital world. Held on May 20-21, 2021, the Summit brought together C-suite executives and central bank governors on a range of topics, and FRT captures the highlights on the major digital issues.

This episode features remarks from Monetary Authority of Singapore Managing Director Ravi Menon, DBS CEO Piyush Gupta, Visa Asia President Chris Clarke, Nextrade Group CEO Kati Suominen, Bangkok Bank President Chartsiri Sophonpanich and SMBC Chief Digital Officer Katsunori Tanizaki, drawn together across three main themes:

  1. Enabling greater international digital co-operation, potentially through a ‘Digital Bretton Woods’
  2. SMEs in the digital economy, and how banks and payments companies can support them
  3. Customer-centricity, occupying a central focus in how banks and insurers are pursuing their own digital transformation agendas.
