The Global Economic Monitor (issued biannually) is designed to provide readers with a comprehensive overview of the IIF’s key macroeconomic views and forecasts. Its aim is to provide a cross-country view with a particular focus on the interactions between mature and emerging economies.
The GEM consists of two sections:
- The first section covers analysis of the main themes relevant to the global economic outlook in that period.
- The second section provides country updates on both major mature economies (the United States, Euro Area and Japan) as well as selected emerging economies, depending on the focus of each GEM.
In addition, the GEM contains detailed global outlook tables at the end of the report which are also available for download on our website. We also publish a statistical appendix containing macroeconomic data and forecasts spanning 41 emerging economies. The GEM is chart-intensive, providing IIF members with a comprehensive, but easy to use means of tracking global economic developments.
