Jaime Vazquez was a Policy Advisor in Regulatory Affairs at the IIF, where he focused on the BCBS regulatory reform agenda, on risk management topics and on the implications of new accounting Standards in the solvency framework.

Jaime was seconded to the IIF in May 2016 from BBVA, where he was the Head of the Solvency Policies Department and the Resolution Office. His responsibilities included the technical support for the implementation of Basel III, the analysis of post-Basel III reforms and other regulatory reforms, the preparation of the first Resolution Plan under the new European resolution framework and the interaction with different regulatory bodies and supervisors at national and international level. Prior to that he was responsible for the Group Accounting Policies, where he spent 7 years after being a manager in the Internal Audit Department. Before joining BBVA, Jaime was a manager at PwC auditing and consulting financial institutions.

Education

Jaime is a Bachelor of Economics and Business Administration from CUNEF (Complutense University) in Madrid, and is a Spanish Certified Auditor. He has also been a teacher at the "Instituto de Empresa", Deusto University and the Options & Futures Institute.
