Adekunle Adedeji is a Policy Advisor in the Sustainable Finance department of the IIF. In this role he is responsible for promoting global capital market solutions, strategies, and practices that support the development of sustainable finance; Educating policymakers and developing industry positions on issues related to sustainable finance; Research and analysis to support in-depth analytical work on sustainable finance topics, including preparation of official sector submissions; and Development of IIF working group discussions and related industry events.

Mr. Adedeji is a professional with vast experience in Sustainable Finance, ESG, Climate Risk, Compliance, Anti-money laundering/Countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT), Internal Controls, Conduct monitoring, Trade-based money laundering controls (TBML) and International trade finance, including providing strategic and visionary leadership and guidance. In his native country, Nigeria, he occupied a lead role in the Risk and Compliance Division at the Access Bank Plc. He is also a member of many professional bodies including the Chartered Institute Of Bankers Of Nigeria (CIBN), the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), the Compliance Institute of Nigeria (CIN) and The Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria for Receiving Banker and Derivatives Dealing.

Education

Adekunle is an MBA graduate of the Alliance Manchester Business School (University of Manchester) and an Alumnus of the University of Ilorin Nigeria (BSc), the International Institute for Management Development IMD Business School, Switzerland (Business Strategist); The Institute of Export Finland (Finance of International Trade), and McKinsey Academy’s "Business Strategy" Certification Program.
