Dennis Ferenzy

Associate Economist, Digital Finance

Dennis Ferenzy is an Associate Economist on the Digital Finance team at the IIF. He was part of the original team that helped expand the Institute’s work on financial technology and financial inclusion through research, events, and industry engagement. Dennis has written on a variety of fintech topics, including mobile payments, artificial intelligence and machine learning, crypto assets, blockchain and distributed ledger technology, smart contracts, big data, alternative lending platforms, and robo-advisors.

Previously, Dennis worked in the Global Capital Markets Department as a Senior Research Analyst, where he focused on sovereign debt restructuring issues and the Greek PSI. Prior to joining the IIF, Dennis worked at the Embassy of Canada in Washington, D.C. where he produced briefings on economic, political, security, and environmental issues.

Education

Dennis earned his MA in International Relations from the University of Kent and his BA in International Relations and Economics from the University of Toronto.
