Korea is under US pressure to renegotiate the KORUS FTA due to its external surpluses, though these primarily reflect import weakness and net saving. Changes to the FTA are likely, but scrapping the agreement should be avoided given needed bilateral cooperation amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
