Javier Rodriguez Soler

Javier Rodríguez Soler started his career at McKinsey and did his MBA at Columbia in 1997. Following 2 years in Mobile Internet startup MyAlert and 5 years with power company Endesa, he joined BBVA in 2008 as responsible for the energy sector within BBVA CIB. In 2010 he moved to the Strategy & M&A area, where he became Global Head in 2015. In 2018, Javier was appointed CEO of BBVA in the USA, which was sold to PNC for almost $12Bn. In July 2021 Javier was named BBVA Global Head of Sustainability. In July 2023 he was appointed Global Head of Sustainability and Corporate Investment Banking (CIB).
