Mr. Ulku joined the IIF in May 2008 from the Centre for Financial Analysis and Policy (CFAP) within Judge Business School of the University of Cambridge (Cambridge, UK) where he worked for the research project of "Exploring International Economic Linkages Using a Global VAR Model". Prior to his role at CFAP, Mr. Ulku held a number of economic research positions in both government and private sector in Turkey.

Mr. Ulku worked in the General Directorate of Economic Research at the Turkish Treasury from December 2001 to September 2007, most recently as Senior Research Associate in the Macroeconomic Modeling Division. While working in the Turkish Treasury, he also contributed to the World Bank research project of "Disinflation, Fiscal Sustainability, and Labor Market Adjustment in Turkey" from October 2003 to September 2004. Prior to his time at the Turkish Treasury, Mr. Ulku also worked as Economist in the Strategic Research and Management Development Team of FIAT Auto-Turkey.

Education

Bachelor’s in Economics from Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey), and Master’s in Economics and Finance from the University of York (York, UK).
