Yasuhiko Tara is a Policy Advisor in the Regulatory Affairs Department. Prior to joining the IIF, Yasuhiko developed his career in the Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank. As a risk manager, he successfully launched risk appetite framework and capital allocation process internally, also built stress testing and a scenario analysis program as well as a recovery plan as a project manager. He has lead the bank’s Regulatory Affairs project team, communicated with regulators and industries, analyzed the impact of regulations, and planned the bank’s capital strategy. As a part-time lecturer at Sophia University in Japan, he had given lectures focusing on financial risk management.

Education

Yasuhiko holds a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science in U.K. and B.A. in Economics from Kyoto University in Japan.
