Gabriel Aguilar is Policy Advisor in the Regulatory Affairs Department at the Institute of International Finance (IIF). He joined the office in October 2022 and will contribute to the IIF’s work on sustainable finance, non-bank financial intermediation, market and operational fragmentation, among other topics.
Prior to joining the IIF on the secondment program, Gabriel worked for 5 years as a legal advisor in the Regulatory and Public Affairs Department of Bancolombia. There he collaborated on several topics related to prudential regulation, sustainable finance and capital markets. He also has been a Lecturer in Financial and Securities Regulation at Universidad Javeriana and Universidad de los Andes in Colombia.

Gabriel holds a JD from Universidad Javeriana and a graduate degree in financial and capital markets regulation from Universidad de los Andes.
