Policy Advisor

Ryutaro is a Policy Advisor in the Regulatory Affairs department at the IIF. In this role, he focuses on prudential capital including cryptoasset exposures, sustainable finance, Basel III evaluation, and recovery and resolution. Ryutaro was seconded to the IIF in April 2024 from the Norinchukin Bank in Japan. He was the manager of the Corporate Design Division where he was responsible for international regulations. Prior to this role, he has 8 years of experience in total in risk management and client engagement in his company. He was responsible for the oversight of liquidity and market risk at the London branch and organizing funds data based on the look-thorough approach in the Basel framework at the head office in Tokyo. He also arranged various financial solutions including corporate loans and syndicated loans to Japanese leading corporations.

Education

Ryutaro holds a Bachelor's degree of Arts in Literature from Waseda University. During that time, he spent a year studying in California.
