Standard Life Aberdeen Chairman Douglas Flint joins FRT to discuss the opportunities with technology to enhance efforts to combat financial crime and the critical issues in how financial services firms protect and use customer data.

On the occasion of the IIF Board of Directors meeting, Douglas highlights the prospects for digital identity to improve protections and increase AML effectiveness. With his experience across both banking and insurance, Douglas also relates the criticality for firms in both sectors to ensure they handle and use customer data ethically, and in line with customers’ expectations.

We also discuss some of the asymmetrical data flows between particular sectors, and Douglas’s expectations going into the World Economic Forum at Davos.
