The IIF has submitted a letter to the FATF on changes to FATF Recommendation 25 concerning the beneficial ownership of legal arrangements. The letter supports the goals of the FATF in preventing the misuse of trusts and other such structures for money laundering or terrorist financing. We offer specific recommendations on how the final revisions can achieve these objectives through the establishment of clear standards to reduce opacity and ensure relevant stakeholder access to verified beneficial ownership information.
