DataTalk - Briefing Note 20 - Data Exchange, APIs, and Interoperability

The December session of the IIF’s DataTalk series explored data exchange, APIs and Interoperability. The call covered key topics such as the importance of moving from open banking to open data, the necessary standardization of frameworks across sectors, use cases of APIs for financial institutions, and the role of regulation in building and operating open finance and open data ecosystems. This note provides a summary of the discussion, respecting that the conversation was conducted under Chatham House Rule and comments are unattributed.

Our DataTalk series continues later this month on Tuesday, January 17, at 9:00 pm (Washington D.C.) / Wednesday, January 18, at 10:00 am (Singapore), where we will focus on trends in decentralized finance (DeFi) and Web 3.0 in the provision of financial services.

DataTalk is our community of practice to bring together data officers and experts for interactive sessions on key data topics in financial services.
