The IIF Insurance Colloquium, sponsored by Deloitte, was held on Wednesday, May 17 at the IIF’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. This event brought together senior officials, private sector leaders, and industry experts for lively and topical discussions on recent developments and emerging issues faced by the insurance sector.

The Colloquium began with a networking lunch followed by a keynote delivered by Jonathan Dixon, Secretary General of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors. Key themes included high-level discussions of policy and regulatory developments, including: the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning; the role of insurance in sustainable and transition finance; the implications of the implementation of IFRS 17; and the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the insurance business model.
