FRT Episode 45: TechSprint Takeaways With Jo Ann Barefoot

Jo Ann Barefoot Jo Ann and the IIF’s Adrien Delle-Case give us their readout of the 2019 Global AML and Financial Crime Tech Sprint. The TechSprint is a week-long hackathon launched by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to work with banks, technology companies, regtech entrepreneurs, and other regulators exploring new technologies and transformative solutions to regulatory challenges.

This was the seventh time the FCA has held a tech sprint and the first to include an overseas satellite location, convened by Jo Ann and a new nonprofit, the Alliance for Innovative Regulation in Washington, D.C.  More than a dozen regulators joined IIF member institutions and technology providers on both sides of the Atlantic to design better solutions to fight global financial crime and its terrible cost to our society and institutions. Listen to the podcast to hear the main themes from the week and the leading examples that emerged.
