IIF & OpenID Foundation Submission for CPMI Payments Conference

With the Committee for Payments and Market Infrastructure (CPMI) call for expert input for their upcoming conference, the IIF and OpenID Foundation have provided comments that focus on the Digital Identity aspects of the FSB-CPMI initiative on the G20 Roadmap for Enhancing Cross-border Payments, and the associated 19 building blocks.

Our comments draw heavily on our work in the Open Digital Trust Initiative, in particular on the interoperability of digital identity with payments and on ways to strengthen defenses for anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorist (AML/CFT). We reference the increasingly crucial role of digital identity solutions in an increasingly digitalized economy, and provide an outline of the Open Digital Trust Initiative’s workstreams and engagements.

Our submission also references our new draft Principles for Digital Trust Networks, which we have also published today, and which are open for comment until April 30, 2021.
