IIF Response to the FSB on Data Frameworks Affecting Cross-Border Payments

The IIF has made a submission to the Financial Stability Board in answer to its survey about data frameworks and their effect on cross-border payments. The submission draws together threads from existing IIF work on the costs of data localization and other data barriers, including their impacts on cross-border payments and cloud computing, and recommends means of addressing such barriers including by ensuring adequate “gateways” to allow both businesses and authorities to share information to ensure smooth cross-border payments and that risks around them are identified and managed.
